The Normal Theater will be a little different upon reopening; here's what you can expect when you come to see an in-person screening.
The theater will operate at a reduced capacity of 50 guests. To maintain appropriate physical distancing, all seating will be assigned. Tickets can be purchased in-person at the box office 30 minutes prior to show time, or online via our new ticketing software Veezi. Patrons can select seats with either option, but purchasing online secures preferred seating and avoids missing sold-out shows. Online sales will stop 30 minutes prior to show time, once the onsite box office has opened.
Patrons purchasing tickets online will see a seating map similar to the one below. Seats with blue outlines are available for purchase; you will not that they are available in numerous configurations, allowing for different party sizes. Parties will be able to sit with each other, but will then be distanced from other groups in attendance. The ticketing software will automatically take the appropriate number of seats within a row off-sale once you've made your purchase to maintain appropriate distancing. So for instance, if a group of 3 were to select seats B1, B2, and B3, seat B4 would automatically become unavailable as well. The system will automatically stop selling tickets once 50 have been sold.
Because of the theater's limited capacity at this time, advance sale tickets will only be guaranteed up to 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the show. At 5 minutes prior to curtain any unclaimed tickets will be opened up to patrons on the Waiting List, which can be joined at the Box Office.
For the health and well-being of theater patrons and staff:
• masks are required at all times in the theater, including when seated for the show;
• concessions will not be available for purchase;
• outside food & beverages remain prohibited; and
• to further reduce contact, the theater will not accept cash.
The theater's policy on mask-wearing at all times was developed through direct input from a public survey to better serve patrons and address concerns. Anyone not wearing a mask while in the theater will be directed to do so; a failure to comply following this verbal warning will result in dismissal from the theater with no refunds offered.
