Rigged: The Voter Suppression Playbook

Tuesday, September 24, 2019

Join Illinois State University's Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning at the Normal Theater for a free showing of the documentary "Rigged: The Voter Suppression Playbook". Rigged is a 2019 documentary that examines how, since 2008, right-wing groups have worked with certain states, to make it harder to vote, particularly for minority groups and young people. Narrated by Jeffrey Wright, and shot during the chaotic 2016 election, the film identifies and unpacks a shrewd ten-part strategy developed by Republicans to suppress votes that would be cast against them. Bob Bradley, professor emeritus in the Department of Politics and Government, will facilitate a discussion following the film.
