COVID-19 Response

The Normal Theater continues to follow all CDC and IDPH guidelines; as such, all visitors to the Normal Theater are required to wear a mask in the building regardless of vaccination status. Patrons that have purchased concessions and are sitting in their assigned seat may remove their mask to enjoy their concessions.

To maintain appropriate physical distancing, all seating will be assigned. Tickets can be purchased in-person at the box office 30 minutes prior to show time, or online via our new ticketing software Veezi. Patrons can select seats with either option, but purchasing online secures preferred seating and avoids missing sold-out shows. Online sales will stop 30 minutes prior to show time, once the onsite box office has opened.

Patrons purchasing tickets online will see a seating map similar to the one below. Seats with blue outlines are available for purchase; you will note that they are available in numerous configurations, allowing for different party sizes. Parties will be able to sit with each other, but will then be distanced from other groups in attendance. The ticketing software will automatically take the adjacent seats within a row off-sale once you've made your purchase to maintain appropriate distancing. So for instance, if a party of 2 were to select seats F9 and F10, seats F8 and F11 would automatically become unavailable as well. Seats across an aisle will not be taken off-sale if a purchase of an aisle seat is made.

Seating for patrons in a wheelchair or that have accessibility concerns should be made in Row NC. A companion seat is available for sale to guests that accompany anyone requiring an ADA compliant seat. If your party exceeds seating for this section, please call us directly at 309-433-9910 to allow us to make accommodations for your party.

For the health and well-being of theater patrons and staff:

  • Concessions will be available for purchase; masks may be removed while at your seat eating concessions items
  • Outside food & beverages remain prohibited
  • To further reduce contact, the theater has temporarily suspended pre-show welcome speeches and raffles

The theater's policy on mask-wearing aligns with the Town of Normal's guidelines for all municipal buildings. Any concerns can be addressed to theater staff at the event, or can be sent via email to normaltheater@normal.org. Your feedback is essential to making sure the theater can provide the best experience possible to you during these challenging times, so please do not hesitate to share your thoughts.
