[ARCHIVED] Holiday Season at the Normal Theater

Christmas 2016

The holiday season is always a magical time at the Normal Theater, when many members of the community consider seeing a film at the theater part of their family's traditions.  The full calendar of events can be seen on our Programming Schedule, but highlights for 2016 include a new partnership with Uptown Dance of Normal on "The Littlest Nutcracker" December 1st thru 4th, NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION December 1st & 3rd, ELF December 9th & 11th, THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL on December 17th & 18th, and perennial favorites WHITE CHRISTMAS and IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE in rotation from December 14th thru the 24th.

Tuesday Night Classics take on a holiday theme this month with IT HAPPENED ON FIFTH AVENUE showing November 29th, THE BISHOP'S WIFE on December 6th, REMEMBER THE NIGHT on December 13th, and 1938's A CHRISTMAS CAROL on December 20th.  All Tuesday Night Classics show at 7:00pm.  As a reminder, Friends of the Normal Theater can always attend Tuesday Night Classics at no cost, and membership makes a great gift for the film lover in your life.

The Friday Night Late Show celebrates some of our favorite Christmas-adjacent films, with DIE HARD showing on December 2nd, GREMLINS showing on December 9th, and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS on December 16th.  All Late Show titles show at 10:30pm.

And in the month of December we have one more installment each of The Normal Humor Comedy Hour on Monday, December 5th, and The Midwest Songwriter Sessions on Monday, December 12th. Both events begin at 8:00pm and are free to attend.  Are they holiday themed? We won't know until the night of; that's the fun of an open mic.
